It's official! The sequel for 'Superman Returns' is in pre-production and due for release in 2009! Once again Bryan Singer will be the director of the project tentatively named 'Superman - Man of Steel' (for pre-production purposes only). Warner Bros. will produce it with Legendary Pictures co-financing - it won't have as big a budget as Superman Returns (under $200m has been budgeted) but it should still be just as good if not better because of recent advances in digital effects. The studios are unsure whether or not to resign Superman Returns star Brandon Routh but more than likely we will see him return to don the famous cape and tights.
Apparently the sequel to Superman Returns will not be put on hold for the JLA movie, so its still expected to be out in 2009. Its been said Brandon Routh will not play a part because the studio wants to keep the Batman and Superman franchises separate from JLA. Rumor has it that they have approached Tom and that he is considering the role.
Apparently JLA might not be a live action production. Rumor has it that the studio is considering making it a CG film so it doesnt conflict with the current batman and superman franchises. Tom would just be a voice actor, and since only a few people would be able to tell the difference between Toms and Brandons voices it wont be obvious that they havent used Brandon.
I'm thinking since it's going to be a CG film, they can just about hire any body, imo. It's just a voice over anyway. I'm sure they can find someone who sounds like either Tom or Brandon.

Yeah I would still rather see it a live action movie than CG but budgets will always be a decider which way they go I guess they wouldnt want a movie disaster like the pilot for JLA live Action TV series was in 97
I would still love to see both current Superman and Batman in the roles for JLA
