Smallville being taken off air again as of October 27, 2007

Well after being back only a few weeks, Smallville is going away again for a bit. Let's hope it can return soon in a more appropriate slot:

http://www.tvtonight.com.au/2007/10/gone-smallville.html

Faster than a speeding bullet, TEN is dropping Smallville.

After returning it to schedule at 6:30pm Saturdays only 3 weeks ago, the network has chosen to remove it, effective from October 27.

It will be replaced by Deadliest Catch, which currently screens after it, to make room for Saturday night movies.

The move continues an on-going, poor scheduling of the series which has constantly frustrated fans. But clearly there isn't enough of them.

Last week, TEN trailed behind the ABC for the evening, and is struggling without AFL programming. Smallville appears to have been jettisoned off to Krypton as a result.

That's it, they have officialy flushed it down the toilet. I got nothing more to say because it's just rediculous.

It just upsets me because Smallville could've been really big in Australia.

If only the network would just let it.

I agree svfan21 I can't believe they replaced smallville with a show about fishermen. From previous seasons youd think they would have realised that the Saturday timeslot was inappropriate. No doubt this will further delay the release of season 6 on DVD in Australia.

Can you imagine if Channel 7 had bought Smallville?

Thursday's could've been "Superhero" day.

Smallville, then Bionic Woman, then Heroes.

Dream come true.

Yeah if they'd stop pulling it off then putting it back on part way through the season it would stand a chance. What did they expect? People who aren't die hard fans aren't going to get hooked on it if they start watching half way through, simply because they dont know whats going on.

Channel 10 should give Smallville to another station who will actually run the series from start to finish without stuffing around.

With all this happening it would have been better if they cancelled the show and left it in peace instead of humiliating it like that, and we'd get the DVD's.

just heard the news, channel ten is pathetic. If they do bring it back they should do it right if they want results.

To be fair to Ten, they have give the show a fair go. They aired it 2X a week over the summer and caught us up to the states in less than 2 years dispite the fact we were 3 1/2 season's behind. they gave it a consistant time slot of 7:30 thursday and when season 4 premied it reached over 1million viewers. it was teamed up well with medium for Sci Fi thursday (which 10 invented not 7). However it then droped dramatically after medium finished and the success of TGYH meant that Jamie (which always aired on Wednesdays) had no timeslot and bang, it was gone. But ten keept it's 800k viewers happy and shifted it to Friday night where it was doing quite well, but was outrated by betterhomes in Ten's key 16 - 39 demo hard to believe that 16 year olds would prefer to watch a garden show but hey they did. The last ep that aire on friday got 600k and Ten had no choice but to pull it, unfortuently the simpson's repeats they replaced it with rated about 850k and bet BH&G and the BB FNL rated at about 1.1mil. Saturday was a stupid timeslot and we all know 9 tried it their as well. The best thing 10 can do is air it on either sunday and monday at 7:30 during the summer which will complete season 6, or air it 9:30 Monday when californication finishes. the higher rating supernatural should lead the show in well and the audience should find it again. And for the record Supernatural performs better when smallville is teamed with it like it was earlier this year.

i also forgot to add that on Saturday it pulled between 400 - 500k viewers, shows at midnight do better than that. I really hope smallville and supernatural and medium get teamed but next year

THIS IS AN OUTRAGE!!!

How dare channel 10 has the audacity to take off smallville indefinately from Australian television once more...
IT HURT THE FIRST TIME AND HURTS EVEN MORE THE SECOND!!!

WE HAVE TO STAND UP!!!

As Smallville fans and followers we have the moral obligation to stand up for what is right...

THINK...WHAT WOULD CLARK DO???

It is imperative that Smallville is on national television, if NOT then society has been thrown into a damning end!!!

if channel 10 isnt gonna show it anymore than we have 2 find someone who will!!!

WOOOO SBS here we come, no more european porno shows!!! AHHA
well ....we can squeeze smallville in somewhere!!! haha

WAIT... why am i complaining....ive seen the episodes a million times...

I guess i can't say failed it went for 4 seasons. Superboy was originally Kal El growing up in Smallville same as Smallville and the TV series form 88-92 was bases on this idea so I guess you could say Smallville isnt an original idea???

But in the 92s DC Comics released a character called Superboy and gave him the name of Kon El or aka Conner Kent

So i sniffed around the Internet and on the video ezy website i noticed that any sign of season six dvd's has been deleted from the website. Because when you search Smallville there used to be seven items in the search but now there are six. The release date said 3rd of October but now its all gone. And on ezyDvd the release date is unknown.

The dvds' would have been relesed if Channel ten hadn't meddled with Smallville. Now we are never going to get the dvds. *shakes head in disgust*

Smallville will only come to DVD in Australia after Warner Bros. have sold and aired the entire season here. The studio is holding off on the release because they think (hope really) that another network (ch 7 it seems) will by the rights to it. But after the recent bad ratings I dont think any of the networks are interested.

I can't believe that such a great show like smallville is doing so badly here. I just hope they get smart and release the DVD's earlier.

It would be nice to have the DVDs released as originally planned.

It puzzles me also.

As much as I want Smallville to be big here, I think the damage has been done and nothing can help it reach the top anymore. 7 Seasons is a long time for the public to catch up on.

I guess we'll just wait for the DVDs.

i would be upset... but i've bought every season up to season 6 now... watched every available ep of s7 as they are available... and will continue buying the seasons as they come out. smallville not being on air just lets me watch it when and where i choose, rather than have to wait all week. eh, would be nice for it to come back on, but i'm not holding my breath for any miracles.
