In your opinion, what is the best season finale of Smallville.


Here are some brief recaps for each. (from imdb)

Season 1: 'Tempest'

Lionel Luthor fires all the employees from the Luthor's Plant to force Lex Luthor to move to Metropolis. Clark Kent invites Chloe Sullivan to the spring prom, and Whitney Fordman joins the Marines. The snoopy and despicable reporter Roger Nixon (Tom O'Brien) from The Inquisitor steels the piece of Clark Kent's spacecraft from Lex's mansion and finds the truth about the Kents. Meanwhile, three tornados threaten Lana Lang and Smallville. A beam collapses over Lionel Luthor putting his life in danger.

Season 2: 'Exodus'

Clark has finally begun dating Lana. Helen Bryce cancels her wedding to Lex, but later she realizes that she loves him and they marry. Jonathan and Martha are thrilled to learn Martha is pregnant. The memory of Jor-El speaks to Clark, telling him he must leave Smallville, his parents and friends to fulfill his destiny. Clark decides to destroy the spacecraft, using Lionel's kryptonite key. The ship explodes, causing Marhta to miscarry. Chloe, jealous of Clark and Lana, accepts Lionel's proposal to investigate Clark. Clark, grief-stricken at the injury he caused his mother, puts on the red kryptonite ring and heads out of town, planning never to return, while Lex, flying off on his honeymoon, awakes-up alone on the airplane that is about to crash.

Season 3: 'Covenant'

In Kent Farm, Clark Kent is surprised in the middle of the night by a naked young woman claiming that she is Kara (Adrianne Palicki) from Krypton, and asking him to go with her somewhere through the Kawatche caves. Meanwhile, he decides to testify against Lionel Luthor to keep him in prison. Lionel sends a key of the secret chamber in the Mansion Luthor to Clark, and he finishes his friendship with Lex Luthor. Lana Lang travels to Paris and Chloe Sullivan and her father are included in the witness protection program.

Season 4: 'Commencement'

When Lana kills Genevive Teague with one of the Kryptonian Knowledge Crystals it triggers a cosmic event that sends meteorites toward Earth and Smallville. Fearing he has a link to the meteorites, Clark goes to talk to Jor-El. Jor-El informs him that his only hope is to unite the knowledge crystals in the cave. With time running out, Clark sets about locating the final two crystals as meteorites reign down upon Smallville.

Season 5: 'Vessel'

When Lex is abducted by Fine, Clark receives strange warnings from Jor-El telling him to "sacrifice the vessel". Clark fears this means he will have to kill Lex so that the evil Zod cannot escape from the Phantom Zone. To make matters worse, Fine unleashes the true terror of his virus on the city of Metropolis with shocking consequences...

Personally I like Season 3's 'Covenant'.

It was cliff-hanger galore. So many things happened, Lex's supposed poisoning, Chloe being blown up, Lana leaving, Johnathan fainting in the cave..

It just didn't effect me like the others. But it was a great introduction on how season 6 would be like.

Australia was very fortunate.


Channel 10 aired seasons 3, 4, 5, and 6 one after the other without any lengthy breaks.

So we didn't have to wait long to find out what happens next season.

So maybe this break is good. Australia got a Smallville overload. Which in no way is a bad thing.

yeah, cause i watched the season five finale on ten, and i was like so sad cause i thought i would have to wait forever to watche the season six premiere and then next week i watch the next epi, i was like over the moon, ehehehe

nooooooooo, i absolutely hate vessel, why, because, i hated the whole zod plot, and lex bocoming zod, it was so pathetic, and the whole fight between them lasted like two seconds, lol, and clark beat him too easy, i want to see him really fight like he did in combat,

The episode had so much potential to be "epic" -- but to me it didn't really get there.

Still, it was an okay conclusion for S5.

How was Lex turning into Zod pathetic? That's a part of the Superman mythology...it's hardly pathetic. I though they handled it rather well indeed.

true, although one element of the zod episode left me confused confused, Lionel being able to read and write the kryptonian language and we havnt heard anything from that since. whats the deal hmm? i hope we find out soon blankstare.

yeah, i think that that was just a temporary thing, cause wast that jor'el in him, but i was confused, maybe lionel still has that, but is keeping it to himself, but i dont think theres nothing more to it, cause there would be epis about it, lol

well Jor El left Lionel but left the kryptonian knowledge with in him. Lionel lied to Chloe when she asked him about that. now we know nothing, that agenda hasn't been touched again.

and i dont think the writters will focus on that plot again, cause there is other stuff, like someone dying, i dont want anyone to die though, why cant lionel die so we can be relieved that lana nor chloe dont,

i really dont care, i just want clark to become superman, and the show to end with a bang, but i hate the epis with those meteor freaks, cause its pointless, cause they either die or go to bell reive, so whats the point.

The point, was that the original concept of the show was to centre around Clark Kent as a teenager, hence the title being Smallville. In keeping with this, the show technically should have finished when Season 4 ended. But by then they'd already begun to move into the Superman Mythos, which it's continuing to do as they're now trying to match the show up with the new movie adaptations.

well i've been reading around and speculation is that Lionels kryptonian knowledge thingy will be addressed before the seasons end. who knows hmm?

they'd have to re-address, it would have been pointless in making it happen in the first place if nothing more was to come of it, I think at least
