WILL SEASON SEVEN BE SMALLVILLE'S LAST?

ok, so kristen and michael are leaving at the end of season seven, so could the series finale possibly be at the end of season seven, i personally think they should expand to season eight, because i think that 22 episodes are not enough to fully show clark following his destiny etc, and people are saying it ends at season seven, but i dont think so, cause it doesnt matter if lex leaves, someone said that a new character, a bad guy might be joining the cast, so i think there should be a season eight, but there a chance it might not happen.

Will season seven be smallville's last?

not 100% sure, I think everyones contracts finish at the end of season 7 but I'm not sure of that either, I did hear that they were doing a season 8 but Michael and others won't be in it and it would be focused on Clark being SM but I think that was a rumour biggrin, so don't really know. In the end my response doesn't answer anything blankstare. Sorry 'bout that smile.

I think season seven should definently be the last, its going to be absolutely **** without lex or lana. And they just make up some stupid random bad guy to fill up the season, it looks like the show will go completely off track if that happens. Season 7 should definently be the last. I would like this show to end on a high.

However the end it will be matched up to Superman Returns somehow, at least that's what they're aiming for.

They could do that actually. Have it so they cut to 10 years time, when Clark has been doing his Superman thing for a while, Lex has just gone to prison, and end it so that Supes has been informed by Virgil Swan's ppl that they think they've found Krypton, and we then see Clark leave Earth in search of it.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
They could have it so the finale scene goes something like this:

Clark (in the SM uni, but we don't see only a back/side shot of him) at the farm, standing and saying goodbye to his mother.

MARTHA: Clark, no matter what you find, you'll always have a place here, this is your home and you'll always be my son, I love you *hugs him*
CK: I love you too mum
MARTHA: Just promise me you'll come back to us
CK: I will return mum, I promise

They embrace one last time. Clark turns and faces the sky. (close up on Tom's face, a determined brave look, SM theme music playing) Clark takes off, camera pans back to Martha who watches him fly away from the front porch.

MARTHA: Goodbye Superman

Martha sheds a tear, smiles, then returns inside the house. Camera pans out from the farm, then from Smallville, then fades to black, roll credits.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Which would work in fitting in with Superman leaving earth for five years. I dunno, just one of many idea's they could do. But if I was a Smallville writer, that would be a good way to end the show, my op. anyway. smile

I agree with Peter, season 7 should be the last.

Without Michael and Kristin it just wouldn't be Smallville anymore. Having random bad guys would just be like the "freak of the week" theme happening again. That was interesting for the first few seasons, but this is the series coming to an end.

And I hope they do the scene as awesome as yours ametheyst.

I hope they do season 7 like it's the last, so if it isn't picked up for another one it went with a bang.

Interesting..

First I want to see how Season 7 is -- although I'm sure it'll be the BEST season of Smallville.

but i read somewhere that they might introduce a bad guy, if the 8th season is made, to replace kristen and michael, because he needs to face some bad guy, once lex is gone, but this may be false information, you never know.

That would be incredibly lame if they introduce some lamo bad guy in the last season, when for the last 7 seasons the show has been all about lex and Clark becoming enemys. Sounds like the story will go completely off the rails if that happens, and I hope to God it doesn't.

I agree.

If Michael doesn't agree to season 8, please let season 7 be the last.

i hope that season seven isnt the last, but if they decide to further it without krsten and michael, then its sure to go down hill, but who knows, maybe they can get the rights to some extremely well known villain,

I guess that would work.

Although losing Lex and Lana would lose many hardcore fans of Kristin Kreuk and Michael Rosenbaum. -- this might affect the ratings pretty badly.

But as you said, who really knows until we see it.

Yes well that is a hard question, I was watching one of the extras and the guys have always said they wanted to end the show with Clark donning the suit, but we all know how these things change.

Maybe they could introduce the Mole Men (lol) for those who know Superman history.

I think if they went on without Lex they would have to bring in other villains for the mythology or even Justice League but keep in mind you wouldnt want it ending up like Lois and Clark.

Long live Smallville!smile

I heard that the studio is thinking of re-introducing the Justice League concept, especially now the JLA film is due to come out soon. Even if they continue on to season 8 I dont think the ratings will go well without Lex as the villain, it just doesnt seem right.

^ Agreed.

Without Lex, it may go back to the 'freak of the week' concept.

And I sure hope they don't go back there, this show has evolved so much.

As much as i would love Smallville to go on FOREVER, the truth is it has to end!!!
I read somewhere that season 7 ends the contracts of Michael, Kristin and Allison soooo i guess there is NO reason for the show to commence!!!

I also read that the title of the final episode of Season 7 is "SUPERMAN"...
A possible link to his future destiny???
A possible link to the END of Smallville???
WHO KNOWS??? Right know its NOTHING MORE than rumour...
BUT unfortunately the show has to end one way or another!!!

I hope Smallville doesn't end after season 7. I read somewhere that they are trying to offer Michael and Kirstin another contract for just one more season so they can wrap up the series in season 8 with Clark donning the suit and heading to Metropolis to become a reporter.
