The only thing I would change forum wise, although it doesn't need to be done as it's fine as is, but anywho, it has to do with member's info under their avatar.

You could have, under the avatar, coloured stars, squares or...Superman Symbol...that build up each time a member goes up in rank.
You could also have under your avatar saying something like:

Member Group: Newbie
Posts: 5
Location: Sydney
Joined Date: 5/6/06

But that would be about all I'd change

The changing Superman symbols is a really good idea.

Oh and by the way, it's nothing big or anything but on the Character Bio page Lex Luthor is spelt incorrectly.
